Asian markets in the Midwest provide a safe and welcoming environment for those in the Asian community to feel comfortable and at ease. The Oriental Market, located on 27th street in Lincoln Nebraska has become a cultural hub where community members can not only find familiar foods but a sense of home.

One of the largest Asian markets in Lincoln and only a few blocks away from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, many students and working professionals flock here after a busy day to stock up on foods and other supplies.

In the Midwest, there are not many places for the APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Delia American) community to come together, so markets like the Oriental are typically a one-stop shop for everyday needs, including social interactions.

The market also supports APIDA students and student organizations by sponsoring on-campus events and also letting them use their space as a base for their school projects.

The Oriental Market stocks food from multiple APIDA cultures including: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese.

The market ensures that the APIDA community in Lincoln---including its a large Vietnamese refugee population---is able to find a piece of home here in the Midwest.  It also encourages Lincoln locals to come and discover an abundance of new tastes and flavors.
